Marc Anthony returns to Tenerife for concert and Atlantic pledge

A concert by Marc Anthony, the top-selling tropical salsa artist of all time, in the south of Tenerife this summer is not only an entertainment, it’s a show of support for the environment.
The American singer/actor/record and television producer is to perform in the Estadio Olímpico Antonio Domínguez in Playa de las Americas on July 10th.
The much-anticipated concert is part of his “Cambio de Piel” World Tour and is produced by CMN & FOH Entertainment and Son Atlántico 2015, the fiesta of the oceans which Tenerife is hosting again this year.
Marc Anthony was last in the Canary Islands seven years ago. His last three visits were all to Tenerife, in 2005, 2006 and 2008, and he says that every time he comes here, “it feels like a hug”.
The tour takes its name from the second single of his latest album Marc Anthony 3.0 and tickets are already on sale, including through www.entrees.es
Marc Anthony is one of the most influential artists of his time and has many followers in the Canary Islands.
Arona Council is delighted to welcome him back, with the concert to begin in the Antonio Dominguez Olympic Stadium at 9pm This is close to the venue for Son Atlántico 2015 which is on the beach-front of Los Cristianos.
Marc Anthony is firmly committed to environmental causes and backs the ideals and objectives of this Atlantic project., which defends the oceans and particularly the colony of whales and dolphins which live off the coast. The festival also has the backing of the Canary Government, Tenerife Cabildo and Arona Council.
In 2012, he announced the creation of the Maestro Cares Foundation, along with Henry Cárdenas, with the aim of helping with the difficulties faced by orphaned children in the developing countries of Latin America over their access to housing, education and health. Two years later, the foundation inaugurated the Children of Christ Orphanage in La Romana, Dominican Republic, to give shelter to more than 150 needy children.
Marc Anthony has won numerous awards and sold more than 12 million records worldwide. His visit to Tenerife is expected to generate massive publicity for the Atlantic Ocean cause and the festival events planned here for July and August.
